Geocaching
Geocaching is allowed at all County Conservation areas. If you wish to place a geocache in one or more of our areas please follow the guidelines listed below.
1.)Geochache must be registered with the conservation office before being posted on the geocaching website.
2.)The cache container must be clearly marked on the outside with Geocaching.com, and the name of the cache. We prefer a container that will hold up to the elements for an extending period of time.
3.)All groundspeak guidelines must be followed
4.)The cache description must contain the following.
* Geocache is cache in trash out (CITO).
* Hunting is allowed in many of Franklin County parks and wildlife areas at certain times of the year.
* A note saying that the cache is registered with Franklin County Conservation.
5.)Caches are off limits in prairie areas where prescribed burning may occur.
Our cache registration form will be available soon as a PDF file for download. If you wish to place a cache in a county area please call our office at 614-456-4375 or send us an email with you cache informaiton on it.

Bird watching
Please visit Maynes Grove and other county wildlife areas, and get a chance to get a good look at some of our winter bird species. Maynes Grove has a wonderful observation tower located just south of the lodge across the lake. Look through the binoculars on the tower's deck to view birds up close.

Cross Country Ski Trails
We will be grooming cross country ski trails when snow fall allows.
The areas that will have groomed ski trails will be Maynes Grove, and Ingebretson Grove.

Lodge Rental
Rent our lodge for your event. The lodge is heated and cooled, has a frezzer, refridgerator, kitchen, and table and chairs for 140 people
General public event $100.00 plus a refundable $100.00 security deposit.
Non Profit $35.00 plus a refundable $100.00 security deposit.
